5 Little Pinterest Improvements

Usually we blog about BIG features, but actually we spend lots of time making teensy refinements. For every big change on Pinterest, there are literally dozens of little tweaks and experiments. We hope that these little improvements all add up to make Pinterest a lot better. Here are 5 little changes from the last few weeks that we’re especially excited about:

  • Real-Time Pin Updates: If you leave Pinterest open, we’ll tell you when a new pin is added to your home screen. This is a feature inspired by sites like Twitter and Gmail that give you a visual indiciation if there is something new.
  • Speedy Repins: Lots of you told us that you hate ‘losing your place’ after you repin an item. Our new repin form lets you repin something you like, and then returns you to the exact spot you left off.
  • Key Board Shortcuts for Quick Browsing: Push the left and right arrows when you are on an indivdual pin page and you can browse through an entire board.
  • Pinner to Pinner Messaging: In our profile redesign, we added a wall that lets you send a message directly to another pinner…or is it pinster :)
  • Most Discussed Pins: Since we made commenting on pins easier, it only made sense to show you the pins generating the most discussion. Clicking Most Discussed gives you an idea of what pinners are finding interesting.
