Butternut squash is no slouch and pumpkin is of course perennial, but a few new veggies are cropping up as fall favorites. We took a look at what’s trending and uncovered what Pinners are saving (and skipping) this season.
Cauliflower is king: The numbers don’t lie and cauliflower is clearly having a moment. It’s 40% more popular than kale and 3x more popular than sprouts. And not just in the raw—we’re seeing creative twists like cauliflower pizza crusts, mashed “potatoes” and tots.
A few more to root for: Rising star celery is 200% more popular than last year, and turnips, carrots and fennel are each twice as popular as they were last fall. We’re seeing these vegetables “turnip” in top Pinned recipes like turnip gratin, celery root and apple salad, carrot soup and roasted curried fennel.

Hungry for even more? Celebrate the first day of the season with one of our 2015 fall food favorites.
